From the Desk of Sr. Marie Hannah

Marie Hannah Happy New Year SJS families, faculty and friends! While none of us knew what to expect when this school year started, we are thrilled to be continuing in-person instruction into the second semester. We enjoy being here in-person with your children and seeing their smiling faces.

We have several exciting things coming up at SJS. First, we will be celebrating Catholic Schools Week Jan. 31-Feb. 6. Please view our calendar of activities for daily themes and important announcements.

In years past, SJS has hosted local businesses for a Community Breakfast during Catholic Schools Week. This year, SJS is inviting businesses and others to join students and faculty on Facebook on Tuesday, Feb. 2, for scheduled events throughout the day. While we aren’t coming together in person this year, we still wanted to bring the community together for this annual tradition that means so much to our students.

The service project for Catholic Schools Week this year will be to “adopt-a-school” by raising money for Saint Louis Catholic High School located in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Their school, along with many others, was destroyed by recent and tragic hurricanes. As a reminder, we have two remaining $2 no code days coming up on Jan. 22 and 29. The money will be used to purchase gift cards to send to the school to help with cost for materials.

In lieu of the traditional Black & White Knight fundraising event, SJS will be hosting a weeklong Black & White Knight Auction online from Jan. 31-Feb. 6. The auction will include class projects, themed baskets and several specialty items. We encourage you to view the auction items early at You don’t want to miss these sweet projects created by our students!

While the past year has been challenging for so many, we are grateful for the support of our SJS family. We are truly excited about the future and hopeful that we will all be returning to our regular routines and traditions soon.
