From the Desk of Sr. Marie Hannah

Hello parents, faculty and friends!sr mh

I hope you all are enjoying summer and looking forward to the start of the 2020-2021 school year! As you know, this year will look differently as we make adjustments for the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it is our hope to keep things as normal as possible and make sure your child receives the quality education you expect from Saint James Catholic School.

School begins August 5, and the first few days will be spent making sure students are comfortable with the new policies and procedures put in place to ensure their health and safety. We will continue to provide parents with updated information and guidelines through our weekly Healthy at SJS communications. For the most up-to-date information, visit our Back to School page here

Our theme for the year is ... hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the holy Spirit that has been given to us. – Romans 5:5. And it is through that hope and the love of God that we will forge ahead with trust and security through whatever challenges we face in the coming months.

OPEN HOUSE. Open House will be by appointment only this year. Class lists will be sent next week and will include a link to schedule your visit. Available appointments are between 1 and 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 30; and 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on Friday, July 31. Parents will not be able to walk their children into school on the first day, so this will be an ideal time to safely visit the classroom, drop off school supplies and meet your child’s teacher.

EVENT UPDATES. A reminder, the 2020 Golf Scramble and Saint James Community Picnic are canceled this year due to COVID-19. Our hope is that we are able to resume these events next August.

Our faculty and staff are excited to welcome students back. We know the year will have its challenges, but we are committed to doing our best to keep everyone safe and healthy while continuing to provide a quality Catholic education.
