From the Desk of Sr. Marie Hannah

Hello parents, faculty and friends!smh

What a thrilling time of year! We have enjoyed celebrating Catholic Schools Week with a student pep rally, our Community Breakfast and Mass with the Archbishop! We still have our service project to finish up this week as well as celebrating our faculty and staff on Friday.  It has been a great week to focus on the value of a Catholic Education for our students, church, communities and nation.

I also hope that we will see you at Black & White Knight this weekend. It will be a great time to kick back and enjoy the company of our school family while raising funds that will make a direct impact on our students and faculty.

Enrollment

It is difficult to believe enrollment for the 2020-2021 school year begins February 10. All current SJS students, as well as Saint James Catholic Church parishioners who are not currently students at SJS may enroll their child and secure their spot. This year, we are introducing an online enrollment process. It will be imperative that all of our current families whose intent is to return next year enroll beginning February 10 through midnight February 21.  All current families will receive an email on February 10 with detailed instructions about how to complete the enrollment process. We also plan to spend the week of February 3 preparing you for the online process, so be sure to watch your email and facebook so that you don’t miss any helpful hints. We will open enrollment for new students beginning February 24.

Tuition and Fees

As previously stated, tuition and fees have been consolidated this year as a way to better assist our families. Tuition did not increase. With this streamlined process, the combined tuition and fees can be paid throughout the tuition contract, which means upfront family costs are lower. Due to system functionality, we are unable to include the enrollment fee in our tuition amount. As such, a $75/child fee for K-8 students and $50/child fee for preschool students is required at time of enrollment. This has been deducted from the tuition numbers we shared previously. You can find an updated tuition and fees rate sheet here. Also, the deadline to apply for Catholic Education Foundation tuition assistance is February 28, so if you haven’t already, be sure to get your application and all supporting documents in before the deadline to make the most of available tuition assistance and scholarships.

Growing the SJS Family

February 3-7 we are inviting interested families to schedule a tour to see firsthand the value of a Catholic education. Make sure to tell friends, family and anyone considering sending their children to SJS to contact the school for a visit.

We look forward to seeing our families back for the 2020-2021 school season and welcoming many new students!

Blessings,
