Hello parents, faculty and friends!

What an exciting time of year! We are celebrating glorifying God for family and friends as we look toward Thanksgiving. And it is almost Advent, a time to move from darkness into light and prepare for the coming of Our Lord Jesus.

We also are deep in the process of planning for next school year! We recently celebrated with our preschool families during Kindergarten Preview Night. Parents toured classrooms, spoke with teachers and learned about school curriculum. We are so excited to welcome these students as official SJS kindergartners!

Registration for our current families begins soon, and we are gearing up. Opening Registration Day is early this year – Dec. 15 – which also is the day the Catholic Education Foundation (CEF) application for financial assistance is available for those applying for aid. We planned it this way so that our families can make the most of available tuition assistance and scholarships.

With the move to tuition-based funding, we want every family to know we will not deny a Catholic education to any student interested. That is why we are walking with you through this process and ensuring access to as much assistance as possible.

Also new this year, our registration process will be online. All families must register with FACTS Tuition Management System and set up an account. Over the next few weeks we will provide more information so we all can ease into this transition. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.

Make sure to attend this month’s Coffee With the Principal — 8 a.m. Nov. 30 in the school cafeteria. Sarah Bowman, our SJS FACTS contact, will walk you through the process of setting up an account with FACTS and answer any questions you may have. We hope to see you there for coffee, conversation and information!

Plan to attend the Registration Fair on Jan. 14 here at the school. Sarah, Julie Baum with CEF and I will be available to assist with setting up FACTS accounts and applying for tuition assistance. Sarah will also be available to anyone who would prefer an individual meeting date to do the same.  You may contact her at 270-765-7011 ext. 242 or sbowman@stjames-etown.org. More information will be provided at a later date.

Remember our scripture theme for the year — Revelation 21:5 — Behold, I make all things new. We are all walking through this New process together, so let’s help each other. New can be difficult, but it also can lead to the betterment of all.

Blessings,

Sister Marie Hannah
