Saint James Catholic School celebrates Grandparents Day
Saint James Catholic School (SJS) recently hosted an event to recognize grandparents for their involvement in the school.
SJS student ambassadors greeted nearly 75 attendees to the Grandparents Day celebration and escorted them to the school Mass, which included a special blessing from Father Martin Linebach, Saint James Catholic Church Pastor.
“Our school’s multi-generational involvement makes SJS special,” said Sister Marie Hannah, SJS principal. “The Grandparent’s Club is a significant part of our school. They volunteer countless hours and support, and we want to show how much we appreciate the effort.”
Following Mass, grandparents were treated to a reception with light refreshments. They visited with their grandchildren, and preschool students invited grandparents to see their classrooms. The event was held in connection with National Grandparents Day, which was Sept. 9.
“Having a whole family’s commitment and connection to a student’s education works toward the benefit of all,” Sister Marie Hannah said. “We are lucky to have such inspiring family connections to enhance the lives of our students.”
