St. James School-Elizabethtown is a Catholic Elementary school with three & four year old pre-school, Kindergarten through Grade 8 program. SJS is part of the Archdiocese of Louisville school system, accredited through the Kentucky Non-Public School Commission. SJS school has grown in numbers consistently for the past ten years. Enrollment for the year 2000-2001 totals 414 students in K-8.
The school boosts of a strong basic curriculum with Catholic religion classes as part of the daily schedule. Students attend liturgy each week. Specialty classes include: P.E., music, technology, art and library.
St. James School follows an alternative calendar (the same as Hardin County), based on four quarters in the academic year with breaks throughout the year. Students at St. James School ride Hardin County buses.
