Sr.
Michael Marie Friedman O.S.U.
My name is Sister Michael Marie Friedman. I was born and raised in Southern Missouri, known as the Bootheel area of Missouri. My family lived on a farm and all took turns helping our dad in the fields and our mom with the garden and chores around the house.
I was taught by the Ursuline Sisters of Mt. St. Joseph in grades 1 – 12, as they taught in our parish grade school. The school/parish was and still is the heart of the small town of Glennonville, Mo.
I joined the Ursuline sisters in 1965. Our motherhouse is located near Owensboro, Ky. Since that time, I have been involved with Catholic education. Having taught in several places, including Breckinridge, Daviess, Caldwell, and McCracken counties, I am now at St. James School in Hardin County. I have been at St. James School since 1990.
I enjoy music, the peacefulness of the country’s wide open spaces, nature, and seeing a job well done. I also enjoy working with youth and hoping “to make a difference in young lives.”
